LVT stands for luxury vinyl tile.
It realistically mimics natural materials like stone, marble, travertine, or wood. At the same time, it offers numerous benefits including lower cost, improved scratch resistance, and water-resistant performance.
Luxury floor tiles are a popular choice for many areas of the home, and different types are more suitable to different rooms.
But on the whole, they are warmer and more sound insulating than regular ceramic or porcelain tiles as well as thinner, a plus if you can’t add too much depth to an existing floor.
What is LVT made of?
You may be wondering how LVT is different to the traditional vinyl flooring you remember.
Well, luxury vinyl tiles are made up of multiple layers of high-quality materials such as PVC vinyl and resin compounded with plasticisers and stabilisers.
These materials are then compressed under pressure and high temperature to create a hard-wearing flooring product.
Each luxury vinyl tile is manufactured with multiple backing layers as well as two performance wear layers and a Quantum Guard urethane treatment layer which makes our floor extremely durable and flexible.
